Each item is individually wrapped, accompanied by ice packs and dry ice. This ensures that cold temperatures are sustained to preserve peak quality and freshness, while maintaining a safe environment for food. Your order is then delivered directly to your door with the utmost care by one of our highly trained and experienced drivers.
You are not required to be present to receive your order; our driver will leave your package at your doorstep unless an alternative location has been specified. However, due to the sensitive and perishable nature of the products, we advise transferring the contents to your refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible. This is advised even though the items are packed with ice packs and thermal insulated liners, as detailed in our ‘How are orders delivered’ section above.

Our ice packs are reusable. However, if you choose to dispose of them, you can cut the corner, pour the liquid down a drain or toilet, and recycle the plastic pouch.
Not all of our fish and products are suitable for raw consumption. Unless labeled as "Sashimi/Sushi grade," they are not safe to eat raw. Please ensure you are selecting the appropriate items during checkout.
When consuming raw salmon, the FDA advises freezing it for 72 hours or curing the fish to minimize any potential risks. This recommendation specifically applies to salmon.
NOTICE: Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness.
The USDA advises refrigerating fresh fish and uni at temperatures of 40 °F/4.4 °C or lower for a maximum of 2 days before either cooking or freezing. Once cooked, the fish and uni can be stored for up to an additional 3 to 4 days, provided they are stored and refrigerated properly. While frozen fish or uni can remain safe indefinitely, their flavor and texture may decline over time. For optimal quality, it is recommended to freeze cooked fish for up to 3 months. Frozen raw fish is best used within 3 to 8 months; shellfish, 3 to 12 months. It is important to avoid leaving seafood out at room temperature for more than two hours.
We guarantee to deliver the highest quality product, each meticulously prepared by hand. However, due to the inherent variations in size, weight, and shape of fish, there may be differences in the pieces you receive. Despite the variables, we still make every effort to maintain consistency in each order.
Super frozen products are usually stored at -76°F to preserve their best quality, a temperature typically achievable only with industrial freezers and commercial kitchens. However, when you transfer this product to a standard home freezer, which generally maintains temperatures around -4°F, its quality will slowly diminish. For this reason, we recommend consuming super frozen products within a week of receiving it to enjoy it at its peak freshness.
Frozen and super frozen seafood require specific defrosting methods to maintain freshness and quality. Below are various methods you can use based on the time you have available.
Method 1: Slurry/Iced Water (The Quick method – Duration: 1 to 2 hours)
Materials needed:
- Ice
- Water
- Medium to large container
- Paper towels or absorbent cloth
- Waterproof bag (if product is not vacuum-sealed)
Step 1: Prepare a slurry/ice water in a large container, ensure there is sufficient space and water in the container to fully immerse the product.
Step 2: If the product is not vacuum-sealed, remove the product from its packaging, place in a waterproof bag, and expel as much air as possible before submerging it in the prepared slurry.
Note: Vacuum-sealed products can be placed directly in the slurry.
Step 3: Allow the product to defrost in the slurry for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours.
Step 4: Retrieve the product from the slurry, discard its packaging, pat dry while carefully removing any residue from its surface.
Step 5: Slice and savor!
Method 2: Warm Salted Water (The most popular method – Duration: 3 to 6 hours)
Materials needed:
- 2 pints of warm water (100°F or 40°C)
- 2 tablespoons of salt
- Medium to large container
- Paper towels or absorbent cloth
- Plate or tray
Step 1: Begin by preparing 2 pints of warm water at 100°F (40°C) and add 2 tablespoons of salt to achieve a 3% salt concentration.
Note: If you are defrosting multiple super frozen products, the volume of water and salt may need to be adjusted to fully submerge all items while maintaining a salt concentration of 3%. Ensure the products do not come into contact with one another to preserve quality.
Step 2: Remove the product from its packaging and immerse it directly in the salted water solution for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 3: Extract the product from the salted water solution and rinse thoroughly under cold running water.
Step 4: Gently pat dry, wrap in paper towel or absorbent cloth, and place the product on a plate or tray.
Step 5: Defrost the product in the refrigerator for the remaining time, which typically takes 3 to 6 hours.
Step 6: Once defrosted, remove the product from the refrigerator, pat dry, and remove any residue from the surface.
Step 7: Cut and Enjoy!
Method 3: Natural Defrosting (our recommended method – Duration: 12 hours)
Materials needed:
- Paper towels or absorbent cloth
- Plate or tray
Step 1: Remove the product from its packaging, wrap in paper towel or absorbent cloth, and place it on a plate or tray.
Step 2: Transfer the wrapped product to the refrigerator and allow it to remain for a minimum of 12 hours.
Step 3: Take the product out of the refrigerator, pat dry while removing any residue from its surface.
Step 4: Slice and enjoy!
